Kannaki Worship is derived from India and it has been emerged in srilanka also through the rulingredients of King Kajabahu. In India Vasanthan Koothu has emerged in the place "Aayar paadi" where the place of cow herd. After the incident that the Kannaki's husband Kovalan was killed in unfair way, Kannaki got angry and she started to expunged every place in India except "Aayar paadi". It's very popular in Batticaloa specially in Vantharumoolai, Kommathurai and etc. The humor reveals through the way they act and they have to sing and talk by themselves. Sallari, Mathalam also used as a musical instruments. It has been performed to chase the tiredness of the people and chase their sadness through the humour.
